Early Christmas Release

I realise that it may be a swear word for a lot of people at the moment. Mentioning Christmas during the Summer Holidays doesn’t please everyone but as Crafters, we have to start planning way in advance. So any chance of an early release is jumped upon.

This release comes in the form of a Stamp Set and Thinlets Dies named Carols of Christmas and can be purchased separately or as a bundle with a 10% discount.

I have had a little play with this set myself and I already love it. This is a picture of my first make. I have listed the products I used at the bottom of this page.

It can be easily used for both Contemporary and more Traditional styles, depending on which inks and papers you use with it. Here are a few samples from Stampin Up.

I can see this set being really popular, especially as it has been released a whole month before the Autumn/Winter Catalogue itself. So don’t leave it to late to get yours!

A happy hello

Well it’s been about 5 months since I have posted on my blog. I had a lot of things going on in my work and personal life which meant creativity having to take a bit of a back seat for a while. I am very pleased to say that I have now made it back and hence the “Happy Hello”.

There are people you meet in you life that come and go but there are others who you just connect with and you know will just be there for you forever no matter what. So this was a card I made for my bestie Sue, who has always been there for me. I just wanted to let her know that I appreciate her friendship and thought this was a really nice sentiment.

The flowers are from the Avant Garden Stamp Set and the sentiment from the Tin of Cards Stamp Set.

I really hope Sue likes it and I hope you like it to.

All the products I have used are listed below and link directly to my Stampin Up shopping page.

Thanks for stopping by.

Pootlers Design Team – Glampers Greetings – Week 4

pootlers-header-photo

pootlers-design-team-wk-4

I can’t believe it is week four already! To think that I kept putting off volunteering to be on the design team and I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge. If you have been considering it but have not quite been brave enough, just do it. I have never had much confidence in my abilities when I see other peoples creations but I now realise, it doesn’t matter as long as you enjoy yourself.

I have had to learn how to take a semi decent picture, add a watermark and set up links etc so not only has this process pushed me creatively, but also technologically. I now feel a lot more confident with the whole blogging process so it has been a win win for me.

Anyway, back to the project. I know by the time you all see this, Halloween has been over and done with for almost a month but I made these for my two children as a little Halloween treat using the Glampers Greetings stamp set. You wouldn’t automatically think of Halloween when you initially look at the stamp set but I couldn’t let the opportunity go by without using the little bat and pumpkin stamps along with the Halloween sentiment in this set. I had some Christmas chocolates for a project I was working on and just covered them with the Halloween Night DSP from the Autumn-Winter Catalogue along with the Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper and Basic Grey/Black cardstock to make the toppers. I hope you like it, my Children certainly did.

All of the items used for this project are listed below. And that’s it … my final project for the November Design Team. I’m actually a little sad that my turn is over. I will definitely have no hesitation in volunteering for something like this again. I really had fun.

Thank you for stopping by.

Pootlers Design Team – Glampers Greetings – Week 3

pootlers-header-photo

pootlers-design-wk-3-pic

Well here we are on week three already. I have been desperately trying to find different ways to use these stamps to show their versatility but kept coming back to the same idea. The caravan and sentiment “home is where you park it” just cries out to be a picture in a frame or a wall plaque. I thought this would be quite cute to give someone who lives in a static caravan possibly.

Anyway, I used the backing board from the foil/glimmer paper because it is much sturdier than our usual card and I cut two identical heart shapes, sticking them together. I then did my very best to shabby chic it up a little by using numerous coloured inkpads to make the grungy type base. I then stamped 3rd generation images from the grateful bunch stamp set to create the background and the flowers which I punched out using the coordinating punch. To be honest I have never really ventured into the vintage and shabby chic style so I’m not sure I have entirely captured the look.

Using a standard black journaling pen, I created the faux stitching around the heart shape and finally stamped and coloured the caravan image and sentiment. Punching a hole and threading some blushing bride stitched ribbon, the project is complete.

As I say, its not something I would normally create but using a stamp set that you haven’t chosen yourself pushes you out of your comfort zone and forces you to think in a completely different way to your norm. I rather like the outcome this week, I hope you do too. All materials used are listed below.

Pootlers Design Team – Glampers Greetings – Week 2

pootlers-header-photodesign-team-wk-2-pic-2

Ok, so here it is, week 2 of the Design Team Challenge using this Glampers Greetings Stamp Set.

I spent quite some time pondering over the best way to utilise the caravan stamp and to be honest, found it really difficult. I cant wait for weeks three and four ha ha.

Anyway, after much deliberation I decided to pair the stamp set up with the beautiful By the Shore DSP in the Annual Catalogue. The colours just seemed to cry out holiday by the seaside.

I then decided to go for a Z fold card, the first one I have made actually and I found it really easy to do. It looks more difficult to do than it is.

design-team-week-two

Ta da! and here it is in its full glory.

I used the Happy Birthday sentiment and then picked out the balloons, trees and bunting from the smaller elements.

Its not my usual style of card that I would make but then I suppose that is why I put myself forward for the Design Team, to challenge myself.

I really hope you like it, and if you are interested in purchasing any of the products used, just click on the product links below.

Thanks for stopping by.
